Brolin compares Megan Fox to Katharine Hepburn

Posted by Rodneyon 15. 09. 2010in News Chat

Since Josh Brolin went on record to admit that Jonah Hex was a bad film that “got away from its original vision” he has been trying to recover his reputation.

But apparently he isn’t done making statements and this next one raises an eyebrow as he defends Megan Fox comparing her to Katharine Hepburn.

Get the Big Picture shares:
Brolin feels that like Hepburn, Fox just isn’t appreciated in her own time. According to Brolin:

“Katharine Hepburn, one of the most appreciated actresses today, was hated back in her heyday. She was box office poison … They didn’t understand her. Yet now we all look back and go, ‘Okay, she was incredible.’”
He went on to add: “I would love to be the person who puts Megan in a film in which she can actually do something interesting.”

Now at this point, I would say this is utter nonsense. This girl is nothing but a pretty face, which is the same criticism that Hepburn got in her day.

But maybe one day a project will come out and Fox will blow us all away and people will talk about that film wondering where she has been hiding this talent.

I’m just not holding my breath.

I can see her being an amazing actress, with the right director to push her. I say have someone like Fincher put her in one of his movies and have him churn out an amazing performance from her.

The problem with Ms. Fox in which Brolin completely ignored is that early in her career Hepburn won an Academy Award for Best Actress, not Supporting, just Best Actress. Fox unfortunally doesn’t have that power early in her career, and she may be a pretty face but that is probably the only connection that those two should ever share. Hepburn was critized for many things, but unlike Fox, she delivered.

She has one hell of a Porn career ahead of her!

all kidding aside, I dont see a Hepburn here.

maybee more along the lines of Katherine Mcphee or say…. Elizabeth Hurley maybee

Well this isn’t the first time someone defended her either. I remember last year Mickey Rourke made some comments about her after he got to work with her the first time. He said he wasn’t expecting much and was surprised.

So yea, there may be something to Brolin comments. Sorry, I cannot remember where the Mickey Rourke article was to site as source. Old fuzzy memory and all you know.

To be fair, it’s not like she’s had a lot of actual ‘ACTING’ gigs. And by that I mean the most we’ve seen her in is Transformers and Jennifer’s Body. Nothing I’d say were serious acting gigs.

Brolin is a joker! lol. Hung out with him for 2 hours and sipped on Vodka tonics at the TIFF after party. He is a wild dude. Thats all i’m going to say.

Pokemon Live Action?

Posted by Rodneyon 15. 09. 2010in News Chat

Ok, this is really hard to see, and its fast paced but what you are looking at is what could be a live action Pokemon film. A contributor at Shogungamer says he attended a secret movie trailer screening and was shown the clip and managed to catch the last 30 seconds of it on his cell phone.

While it does look a little awkward with the gritty real updated adult versions of the TV show’s main characters (and guns too) the Pokemon themselves still look cute and cartoony.

Let’s face it. Most Pokemon fans are all growed up now anyways, so it make sense to try and target this at a slightly older-than-toddler crowd, but if they are going to make the characters older and more mature, then I would think they would want to make the Pokemon themselves more impressive too.

I hadn’t even heard they were working on this, so who knows what will come of it. Could have been a test market to get a reaction before they go ahead and make a movie, or could be a fan film.

I have a bizarre attachement to the franchise as back before the days of TheMovieBlog.com I worked for a movie review site (that evolved into this site) and Pokemon 2000 was the first film I had to review (Out of our team I was the only one with kids so I got saddled with these types of movies) and you never forget your first!

Looks low-budget and bad

Reply Matt says: September 15, 2010 at 9:33 am

But yes, maybe the test market idea…maybe thinkinga bout a more polished piece later.

Reply H says: September 15, 2010 at 9:42 am

it looks horrible and outdated, they must seriously be running out of ideas in order for them to be doing this.

Reply Slushie Man says: September 15, 2010 at 9:57 am

I thought it looked surprisingly good, effects aside. And I’m sure if this is legit, they’d be fixing up the effects work before release anyway.

Reply Danny says: September 15, 2010 at 10:50 am

Not a bad idea. Unlike some franchises that seem to do movies or tv shows based on original material that’s very dated I think this workds because as you say there are a lot of adults who grow up with Pokemon in their cartoon and/or video gaming background (I happen to have both).

Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up like that live action Dragonball movie from a few years ago…

Reply Slushie Man says: September 15, 2010 at 11:09 am

Even that could have turned out a lot better then it did, had they padded the movie out a bit more and just included some characterization. If they had added just an extra 15-20 minutes, and make most of that characterization scenes, I feel the movie would have turned out far better then it did.

Reply Danny says: September 15, 2010 at 11:27 am

Characterization and action. Dragonball has been associated with fast paced fighting (okay fast paced fights between LOTS of drawn out scenes) and I really didn’t get that from that movie.

im not bying this idea

Reply GL says: September 15, 2010 at 12:26 pm

The fact that there isn’t any iformation about this shows that this is definitely a marketing thing. We are most definitely either looking at the next Dragon Ball film or just an idea for a much bigger picture. Trust me, if a live Pokemon film is being made, it will be on 3D.

Reply Ryan3D says: September 15, 2010 at 1:22 pm

wow be cool if it was less violent cant replace cute with guns and death. i dont see it happening if its gonna be bout guns and not pokemon

Reply Evilution says: September 15, 2010 at 4:27 pm

It is a fan-made trailer pretending to be caught by a cell phone.

Reply Castle91 says: September 15, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Something as colorful & silly as poke’mon doesn’t mix well with reality. It looked like parody/fan film like the “There Will Be Brawl” series.

Reply Bumbledoor says: September 15, 2010 at 4:42 pm

Are we SURE this isn’t something the SyFy network is working on?

Reply Leif Erikson says: September 15, 2010 at 5:32 pm

This has to be fan made.
ai am not completely opposed to the idea of a live action Pokemon movie
I think it could work as long as it doesn’t look like they took the characters straight out of Nintendo 64′s Pokemon Stadium.

Mr. Joel Schumacher is making a film about Barry White.Yes, that is correct - the five Grammy-winner of the best known for his voice under Rico and romantic image, Barry White.Pero, time is a biopic about his life and his carrera.Se is something more.

Hadron reports:
Pajiba, Schumacher has history of Barry White lined up as his next project - but it is not a biopic. Instead, it (get this) "the ghost of Barry White teach some loser kid how to channel him to get a girl".

It is what it is.To read this, felt bad for Mr. white.I was like: "Damn, that is quite cool.Barry is to get a film about him to the Ray."Good for him "... But then kept reading and laughed."This is one of those ideas, that's so crazy on paper, that may only work on screen. who knows? we will have to wait for a seat.

Do you think this would work? could see this? what is White is a biopic instead?
